Privacy Policy

This policy covers snaptikfast.com. It is written to describe what the site actually does, so where it is vague, that is the limit of what we know, not a hedge.

The short version

There is no account, so there is nothing to sign up with and nothing for us to attach to you. You paste a link, a file comes back, and the transaction is over. The longest-lived thing this site keeps is a cached copy of a file somebody downloaded, and that copy is not connected to whoever asked for it.

What we collect

Links you paste. A link you submit is sent to the extraction service that reads the post behind it. We do not keep a record of the links you have submitted, and there is no history for you or for us to look at.

Ordinary request logs. This site runs on Cloudflare, which records the normal facts of a web request — IP address, time, the page asked for, browser and operating system, and roughly where the request came from. These are the records every website receives by existing, they are kept for a short period by Cloudflare, and we use them to keep the site up and to see abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

Nothing else. No account, no email address, no payment details. We do not run a product analytics service on this site, and there is no tracking pixel other than what our advertising partner sets, described below.

What happens to a file you download

This is the part most download sites describe inaccurately, so it is worth being exact.

There are two buttons beside each file, and they behave differently. This matters for what TikTok can see, so it is worth being exact.

The Download button passes the file through our servers. We fetch it and stream it to you. That is how the file arrives with a sensible name instead of a hash, and it is the route that works when TikTok refuses a request made by your browser directly — which it does often.

Because a file takes that route, a copy of it is held in our content-delivery cache so that the next person who asks for the same post is served quickly rather than sending TikTok another request. That cached copy can live for up to a year. It is stored under a key derived from the media address, never under anything identifying you, and there is no way for us to look up who requested it. We do not build a library, an index, or a search of what passes through.

The second button, and the preview image, go straight to TikTok. The button opens the file at TikTok’s own address in a new tab, and the small preview picture beside each file is loaded from there as your page renders. On both of those your device talks to TikTok directly, so TikTok sees your IP address and the ordinary details any website sees when your browser fetches something. We do not send them anything about you, and we strip the referring address so they are not told which page you came from — but we cannot make your device invisible to a server it is fetching from.

The preview is the automatic one: it loads without you clicking anything. If you would rather TikTok saw nothing at all, a content blocker that blocks tiktokcdn.com images will stop it, and the Download button still works.

Cookies and advertising

This site is paid for by advertising. Google is our advertising partner.

Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads and to measure how they perform. Some of those ads may be based on your previous visits to this or other websites. These are third-party cookies: they are set by Google, not by us, and we cannot read them.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before any personalised advertising cookie is set. That request is handled by Google’s certified consent tool, and your answer is recorded by it — you can change it at any time from the link the tool provides.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The downloader keeps working with every cookie blocked; it does not use any.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to have it ported elsewhere. If you are in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal data to anybody.

There is a practical problem with exercising these rights here, and it is worth stating plainly rather than leaving you to discover it: because we hold no account and nothing that identifies you, we usually have nothing to look up. A request we cannot connect to any record is one we cannot act on. Write to us anyway if you believe otherwise and we will do what we can.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it and the new version appears on this page.
